What is Create to Stop Hate?
Create to Stop Hate is an AAPI Artists Auction with ALL proceeds to benefit Stop AAPI Hate.
When is the auction?
The first series of auctions began on March 8 and ran until March 23 on our Instagram @createtostophate. Due to sustained interest from AAPI creatives and supporters alike, a second and third series ran from March 29 to April 5 and April 19 to May 1, respectively. The fourth series will run from May 21 to June 2.
Where can I bid on items?
This auction is held entirely over our Instagram account @createtostophate.
How do I bid?
On each auction day, @ 8am PT, a group of items are posted with a starting bid. Each group of items is open for bidding for one week from the post date, closing at 6pm PT on the 7th day. Bids must be in whole dollar amount in increments of $5. Post your bid as a NEW comment (NOT as a reply) in the auction item post so it is visible to everyone. Please review the Auction Info and Rules section on our website's Home page.
What happens at the end of an auction?
To discourage sniping, last minute bids placed BEFORE 6pm must stand for five minutes. Example: If a bid is made at 5:59, it must remain until 6:04. This rule is in place to extend the auction if last minute bids are posted.
What happens if I win?
If you win an auction, you will be notified by DM with the link to our GoFundMe page. You will have 48 hours from the time of notification to make your donation or the item becomes available to the next highest bidder. Items will ship within 14 days after the auction ends, unless otherwise noted.
Who started Create to Stop Hate?
Create to Stop Hate was founded by Pasadena-based stained glass artist, Janel Foo, to support the AAPI creative community and raise awareness for anti-AAPI discrimination and hate.
Are you an AAPI artist/creative who is interested in donating an item for auction?
